How far in advance should I book a tour?

We recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks in advance, especially for weekend tours and during peak season (May-September). For private group tours of 10+ people, please book 4-6 weeks ahead so we can properly prepare. Same-day bookings are sometimes available - just give us a call!

What is the maximum group size and do you do private tours?

Standard public tours have a max group size of 12 to keep things personal and safe. We absolutely do private tours for groups of 4-30 people - perfect for families, birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and corporate events. Private tours can be customized to your group's interests and ability levels.

Are your tours suitable for beginners with no outdoor experience?

Absolutely! We rate every tour by difficulty level (Easy / Moderate / Challenging / Extreme) and have plenty of options for first-timers. Our Easy and Moderate tours require no prior experience - just an adventurous spirit. All gear is provided, and our certified guides will teach you everything you need to know before we start.

What should I bring on a day tour?

We provide all specialized gear (helmets, harnesses, paddles, hiking poles, etc.). You should bring sturdy closed-toe shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, and a small daypack. Lunch and snacks are included on full-day tours.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Full refunds are available up to 7 days before your tour. Within 7 days, we offer 50% refund or free rescheduling. If we cancel due to weather or safety, you receive a full refund or can rebook anytime within 12 months at no charge.

Do you offer tours for kids and what is the minimum age?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Our Family Adventures are designed for kids ages 6 and up, with kid-sized gear and shorter routes. For zip lining the minimum age is 8, and for white-water rafting it's 10. We also offer stroller-friendly nature walks for families with toddlers.

Are your guides certified and what safety training do they have?

Every guide is Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certified, CPR/AED trained, and holds activity-specific credentials (AMGA for climbing, ACA for paddle sports, etc.). All guides carry satellite communicators and full first-aid kits, and we run quarterly safety drills as a team.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?

We run rain or shine for most tours - a little weather often makes the adventure better! For lightning, high winds, or unsafe conditions, we'll either reschedule, swap to an alternate activity, or issue a full refund. We make the call by 6am on tour day and notify everyone immediately.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?

Yes - just let us know in your booking notes. We regularly handle vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free meals, plus most major allergies. We source from local kitchens and can prepare custom packed lunches with 48 hours notice.

Are pets allowed on any of your tours?

Accepted Answer

Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome on our Forest Park nature walks and most easy hiking tours. Pets aren't allowed on water-based, climbing, or zip line tours for safety reasons. Please mention your pup when booking so we can plan the right route.

Do you provide transportation to the meeting point?

Most tours meet at a trailhead or launch site within 100 miles of downtown. We offer optional shuttle pickup from select hotels and the airport for $25/person round-trip. Custom pickups for private groups can be arranged anywhere in our service area.

Yes! Gift cards are available in any amount from $50 to $1,000 and never expire. They can be applied to any tour, merchandise, or private booking. Digital cards are delivered instantly by email - perfect for last-minute gifts.

Can large groups, students, or military find great deals?

Yes — we help active military, veterans, first responders, teachers, and students find great deals with valid ID. Groups of 8 or more can find even better deals, and groups of 16+ get our best available rates plus a free guide upgrade. We'll always help you find the best deal we can offer.

What is the best season for each type of tour?

Accepted Answer

Hiking and climbing peak May through October. White-water rafting is best in late spring (April-June) when snowmelt creates the biggest rapids. Snowshoeing and winter photography tours run December through March. Wildlife and bird watching are excellent year-round, with spring being especially active.
